Join us for the launch of the Stream “Wind as Model, Media, and Experience” with Media+Environment. The stream includes articles and artworks by Ryan Bishop, JR Carpenter, Richard A. Carter, Sasha Engelmann, Abelardo Gil-Fournier, Maximilian Hepach, Aster Hoving, Inez Z. Ponce de Leon, Jussi Parikka, Janine Randerson, Jules Rawlinson, Birgit Schneider, Rachel Shearer, and May Ee Wong.
This stream emerged out of the AHRC and German Research Foundation funded project Weather Reports (2022-24), which investigated the nature of wind as model, media, and experience, triangulating embodied experience, data practices, and aesthetic production. The project’s aim was to contribute to a better understanding of what changes with climate change through the medium of wind, drawing on research from across the Environmental Humanities and Media Studies. https://winds.report/
