I am excited to announce the launch of LIMN 15 “The Great Offshore,” which I co-edited with Michaela Büsse and LIMN editors Gokce Gunel and Jamie L. Jones. In this issue, we explore the offshore as the prevailing spatial logic of our times across diverse sites such as call centers, gamer enclaves, detention facilities, special economic zones, experimental start-up states and outer space. It has been a pleasure to assemble this bumper collection of essays and visual pieces by our various scholar and artist contributors, and also to interview art critic Ben Eastham on his just published novel “The Floating World.”
This issue features contributions from A. Aneesh, Lisa Yin Han, Sonia Levy, Jonathan Galka, Emma Shaw Crane, Steffen Köhn and Nestor Siré, Rebecca Ulliasz, Héctor Beltrán and Rodolfo Sousa, Jessica Quinn Slattery, Simon Rakei, E.M. Elshaikh, Andrea Pollio, Liza Rose Cirolla and Samuel Giraut, Michaela Büsse, Nancy Couling, Harris Feinsod, Damien Bright, along with interviews with Alex Rivera and Ben Eastham and an obituary piece for LIMN founder Andy Lakoff by co-founders Christopher M. Kelty and Stephen J. Collier. The cover art is “SEASTATE 7: sandwich” by Charles Lim Yi Yong.
